As the Post-Doctoral researcher within GenesisCare, you have the accountability and responsibility to develop and implement technical research projects, real-world data and clinical trials according to the company’s research strategy; you are also responsible for grant applications with external parties to support investigator initiated research projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage allocated research projects, including preparation of ethics applications, review and maintain data integrity.
  • Develop independent research in radiotherapy imaging biomarkers and image analysis, including segmentation.
  • Provide support for developing auto-segmentation software tools for radiotherapy and support data transfer and storage where required.
  • Work with other groups to further develop and enable collaborative data investigations and undertake statistical and data learning analysis and validation.
  • Prepare research manuscripts for publication in quality peer reviewed journals and present research outcomes at conferences and meetings.
  • Pursue research grant funding submissions for related projects and prepare grant applications and human ethics applications.
  • Mentor and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide guidance on quantitative research methods.
  • Represent research projects on relevant committees and contribute to team meetings and decision making processes.

Who You Are

Essential
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in medical physics, computer science, mathematics or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following fields is essential: Medical Image Computing / Machine learning / Deep Learning / Radiation Oncology / medical Physics / MRI Physics
  • Demonstrated expertise in image processing including segmentation.
  • Demonstrated track record in research including preparation of manuscripts, grant applications and publishing in international peer reviewed journals.
  • Proven ability to be both self-directed and work independently within a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and researchers, with the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and testing well structured, documented code and supporting others to do this.
  • Commitment to conducting research under strict ethical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate both through oral and written forms.
  • Solution driven, high level of initiative and flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology
  • Experience in the use of MRI for cancer imaging
  • Experience in imaging biomarker development
  • Flexibility in working times and locations
  • Ability to travel domestically and international, if required.
