Within the framework of the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services and in a manner consistent with the stated Vision and Values of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) the Clinical Coordinator Southern Metropolitan Team, uses their clinical knowledge and experience to provide pivotal coordination of child and adolescent mental health (insert team) services. This position is focused on leading the team through the provision of, clinical direction, and coordination of the nursing, allied health and administrative staff activities to achieve continuity and quality patient/client care.

The Clinical Coordinator-Southern Metropolitan
  • In partnership with the Team Psychiatrist is responsible for day to day coordination and leadership of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Uses their knowledge and experience to ensure best practice standards are achieved and is available to consult with other staff with in the team around complex clinical presentations.
  • Works collaboratively and in partnership with a broad range of government, non-government and private practitioners/service providers, consumers and carers.
  • Is accountable for the delivery of high quality care, which is consistent with the Department of Health & WCHN quality framework. The Clinical Coordinator, accept accountability for the outcomes of the teams practices in the child and adolescent mental health service and /or related services, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy and developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes.
