About You

You are a dedicated Mental Health Professional who is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare and is particularly passionate about mental health. You have a demonstrated ability to deliver a range of evidence-based focussed psychological strategies in a counselling setting and are equipped to provide a high-level support for a wide range of mental health conditions to Australian Veterans. You are interested in making a difference in the lives of those who serve(d) our country and possess a strong understanding and demonstrated experience in counselling. Available ideally immediately, or within 2-4 weeks, you will be equipped to travel to one of the below locations near you, or temporarily relocate for a fixed term contract with Serco to support Open Arms via our partnership with Bupa.

About the Role

Based at an Open Arms location in Australia, you will represent Open Arms in a fixed term part/full time contracted role, as Australia’s leading provider of high-quality accredited mental health services to Australian veterans and their families. Make a difference everyday with your own dedicated caseload of ADF veterans (and their families) who you will support 1:1 with a variety of mental health problems including: anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, insominia, alcohol and substance abuse, gambling and more. In a private and confidential office environment via counselling sessions, you will provide clarity, tailored support mechanisms and strategies that will assist your clients to develop self-awareness and help to identify and address multiple issues impacting their mental health. Be part of a multidisciplinary mental health support team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and more, who are all dedicated and passionate about what they do.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
An Australian Citizenship
A current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist, (or accreditation with AASW for Social Workers)
Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' in a counselling setting as defined under the Medicare Schedule.
A current Working with Children Check in relevant State or Territory (or willingness to obtain if successful)
Ability to travel or relocate to one of the nominated locations below
