Position Summary

About The Role

The fixed term position for a Clinical Therapist/ Recovery Clinician to join our mutlidisciplinary team in providing clients with evident based clinical interventions used in the treatment of mental illness. Clinical expertise, qualification and or training in a range of psychotherapy modalities including, but limited to, DBT, ACT, Family Therapy, Solution Focused and other neurobiological research informed interventions are highly sought after. Position located at Wyndham Mental Health Clinic, Hoppers Crossing. You will be working with people experiencing mental illness and mental health problems that live within the Wyndham catchment area.

  • Part time f ixed term contract until March 2022.
  • RPN3/AH2
  • Provide quality client-focussed care to patients, their families and carers, using evidence based therapies
  • An understanding of a variety of theoretical approaches and the ability to implement various therapeutic techniques from treatment modalities and a sound understanding of the range of diagnostic categories of mental health disorders.

About You
  • Registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse with completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or a post graduate program or a post graduate psychiatric/mental health nursing qualification, or an approved degree in Psychology and registration with AHPRA, or registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist or Recognised degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership into the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Experience in delivering treatment or care to people experiencing mental illness, and their families, using a recovery based framework within a community mental health setting
  • An active team member
  • A current unrestricted Victorian Driver's license and ability to drive a work vehicle
  • Experience in working in Community mental health and/or in Forensic settings

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
