About Forensic Mental Health in Community Health

The Forensic Mental Health in Community Health (FMHICH) Program provides high quality and comprehensive service to Adults 18 and up on Corrections orders residing in the City of Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia areas. The program aims to assist eligible individuals to access the multidisciplinary mental health care they need to enable them to satisfy the requirement of the Mental Health and Treatment Rehabilitation conditions while reducing their recidivism risk. The program offers outreach and community health centre based interventions.

About You:

You are experienced, energetic and determined in whatever role you have undertaken. Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas:

  • Psychological assessment, treatment, research and evaluation

  • Collaborative work practices

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with outside agencies

  • Ability to work with complex presenting issues

You are highly motivated and thrive on the challenge to perform at your best every day. Naturally you have strong written and verbal communication skills, and are an active listener.

What you need:

  • An AASW accredited Bachelor Degree. Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

  • Mental Health accredited social worker or working towards AASW CPE accreditation

  • Experience in mental health/forensic settings
