An exciting opportunity is available for a commercially minded Sales Specialist to be responsible for the assistance of Sales teams; supporting tactical marketing and field support as required on our Quality Control and Informatics portfolio. Based in our suburban Sydney office, this position has accountability for achieving sales, marketing and financial objectives for the relevant product lines. Location of this position in Melbourne would also be considered.

Our ideal candidate will have a comprehensive sales or marketing background in quality management and the clinical diagnostics market with relevant and substantial working experience in the life science / clinical diagnostics field, preferably with strong experience using Bio-Rad’s QC informatics program..

Responsibilities Include
  • Instrumentation specialist to sales team and implement selling strategies to win greater market share for assigned product portfolio
  • Drive Instrumentation demos, sales presentations and tender response to achieve sales targets
  • Assist Product Managers in formulating and executing the tactical marketing activities(conduct market research, focus product initiatives, quarterly specials and product evaluations) to generate sales leads and expand the business
  • Assist in developing and conducting technical and sales training programs for internal sales during Business Review Meetings
  • Assist in the preparation and participation at conferences, roadshows and seminars
  • Maintain excellent market knowledge of all major prospects and local competitor activities and report this information to the Sales Manager and Product Manager.
  • Assist in identification of key customer reference sites and support appropriately to retain and build relationship
To be successful in this role, you will need the following attributes, skills and experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a Laboratory Medical Science discipline, or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience at building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Good organizational and planning skills, as well as demonstration of initiative
  • Strong proactive approach to work, skills in project management and high level computer literacy and software skills.
  • It is desirable that the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years technical experience in a diagnostic laboratory, in either Immunology, Virology, Serology or molecular or diabetes monitoring
This role has responsibility for being in the field in order to drive sales activities in this portfolio. Travel (in a post-Covid19 setting) forms a significant part of this role, so a willingness and ability to travel is required. An ability to function comfortably with virtual teams is required.
