Clinical Project Lead-Brisbane

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Project Lead to maintain oversight of allocated studies to ensure set-up, conduct and closure of clinical trials in accordance with ICH-GCP, applicable legislation and companies’ SOPs. The Clinical Project Lead will act as the main line of communication to relevant stakeholders and provides input into feasibility, study design, budget development and ongoing oversight of progress on allocated projects.

The successful candidate will be confident in the Clinical Project Management role. Someone who will proactively identifying and resolving issues and participating in process development initiatives to support the growing team. A candidate with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working in a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide comprehensive project management to ensure the successful completion of assigned clinical research programs and projects

· Contributing to the identification of potential new vendors, briefing them on study specific requirements, and gathering the required information and quotes from them to facilitate selection

· Providing study specific direction and support to contracted vendors and sites

· Ensuring trials run within specified budgets and timeframes, including negotiation and building of Clinical Trial Research Agreements

· Assisting with the writing and maintenance of in-house SOPs

· Attending Investigator Meetings, Site Initiation Visits, and Interim Monitoring Visits to provide investigator site and CRA training and supporting CRAs with site management through co-monitoring and providing oversight

· Oversight of specific study management, including tracking study progress

Skills and Attributes

· Experience in project managing and monitoring multi-centre clinical research studies

· Understanding of the local and global regulatory clinical research requirements (ICH and GCP)

· Excellence and attention to detail in written and oral communication

· Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and ability to prioritise competing demands

· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to network effectively, to work individually and as part of a collaborative team

· Ability to effectively manage and maintain close cooperative working relationship with existing and prospective staff and vendors

· Proven ability to manage and deliver against contract requirements to budget and to agreed timelines

· High-level organisational and analytical skills

· Demonstrated skills in personal time management and organising projects involving people and resources

· High level computing skills (word, excel, access, powerpoint)

· Ability to learn new techniques and follow established protocols

· Able to travel interstate and overseas as required by the project/s

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or health-related discipline or in Life Sciences area
  • At least 5 years clinical trial experience as part of a CRO or pharmaceuticals/biotechnology/life-sciences company
  • Understanding of a contract research environment and required systems
  • Experience in the therapeutic areas of Oncology or Immunology is preferred
