Reporting to the Director Allied Health (Acute), the Audiology Manager is the clinical audiology expert, accountable for the leadership of a professional team that delivers high quality, contemporary evidence based audiology services to patients of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN). This includes the provision and oversight of paediatric and adult audiology assessments and rehabilitative services, including adult cochlear implant services, located at Flinders Medical Centre. The Audiology Manager will work closely with the Speech Pathology Manager to oversee administrative services in a shared physical location. The Audiology Manager will work closely with the broader Acute Allied Health division to achieve divisional priorities and targets.

The Manager Audiology Service will have a responsibility for establishing a framework for, and developing and maintaining a high standard of governance and accountability for hearing services, ensuring that appropriate benchmarks for service delivery are established and met.

They will provide strategic leadership ensuring that adult and paediatric hearing services within SALHN, and across the statewide program, are advocated for, recognised and advanced. The Manager will ensure the collation, analysis and reporting on data relevant to service improvement and will have responsibility for ensuring that appropriate communication processes are in place. The position will represent Audiology on relevant committees within SALHN and externally.

Professional networks and working relationships with key stakeholders from both within and external to SALHN will be established and maintained to achieve timely, appropriate and effective outcomes for patients. The Manager Audiology Service will be responsible for developing partnerships with relevant tertiary institutions to enhance the audiology profession in the areas of research and training.

The role fosters positive working partnerships and collaborative work with community services/providers and external agencies, achieving effective integration between acute and community audiology.

The Manager Audiology Service will directly manage a small clinical caseload, commensurate with managerial responsibilities.

For appointment you must have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for Association membership with Audiology Australia.
