Period of Employment

Permanent, part-time, shift work (fully rotational), working 56 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible (2 positions).

Please also note that this process may be used to fill fixed term and casual opportunities as they arise.

Location

Royal Hobart Hospital - Triage

Duties
Provide an efficient and effective emergency reception service, including immediate attention to patients presenting for treatment and admission. Provide initial interview and registration verification of patient identification data.

Process all emergency admissions and after-hours direct admissions.

Liaise and assist in the coordination of the day to day functions of the Emergency Department (ED). Provide a clerical support service in relation to all the administrative functions associated with primary patient care.

Essential Requirements

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check
