About our General Medicine South West 2 Ward at Dandenong Hospital


Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.


South West 2 is undertaking a tranformational change as we re-develop an Acute General Medical Unit. South West 2 which will service 20 beds, admitting patients with, but not limited to respiratory, cardiac and renal conditions. As a unit, working within a ward governance structure, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be accountable to ensuring collaboative care plans from the Medical, Allied Health and Pharmacy teams are managed to optimise the care outcomes for our patients


The Associated Nurse Unit Manager position is an exciting and challanging one. You will be a role model; delivering and supporting the delivery of evidence based practice. Responsibilities will be in the risk mitigation strategies you advocate; accountablity for the professional development of yourself and others, while also supporting adequate skill mix to deliver outstanding care. In this role, you will have an oportunity to take on portfolio management; undertake leadership and management courses provided through our Education Department as well as collabotaing with extended stakeholders to help improve health care delivery to those in complex situations.


About the Role


We are seeking an Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) with proven acute Hospital Training in General Medicine with leadership and management experience to join our team and deliver a patient centred care.


We encourage engagement in professional development activities including, but not limited to undertaking Post Graduate Certificates with application to Medical/Surgical Transition into Specialty Practice. On-site education and access to Clinical Educatorsis avaialble.


We have part time and full time positions available, 48-78hrs per fortnight, working across a 24/7 rotating roster. If you believe you have the credentials to fulfil this position APPLY NOW!


About You


You have experience and proven ANM experience with previous exposure to acute general medicine in a hospital setting. You are a dedicated and compassionate nurse and leader who is enthusiastic about further developing your career and supporting those around you.

What you need:



  • A relevant Post Graduate Qualification

  • Proven clinical experience in an acute Hospital Ward

  • Proven clinical leadership experience in a hospital setting

  • A willingness to learn & grow your leadership capabilities through commitment to a portfolio

  • Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration
