The Role

The Risk and Compliance Manager will manage a small team and implement the application of a compliance framework for our Independent and Assisted Living (IAL) business. You will perform this through the provision of high quality, proactive and commercial compliance services in addition to providing advice that supports the delivery of IAL business strategy. Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance - IAL, you will be accountable for providing oversight, independent monitoring and advice on compliance and fostering the development of a mature compliance capability and culture across IAL. You will also be responsible for ensuring all mandatory reporting is conducted and will be required to participate in rostered after hours on-call function to support mandatory reporting obligations. The role will also oversee and supervise the external complaints framework and a complaints liaison officer.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with demonstrated experience (ideally 7+ years) in compliance and risk. Ideally you will additionally have prior exposure to the healthcare / aged care sector.
  • Proficiency responding to operational business requests.
  • Strong knowledge of the legislative and regulatory frameworks for Residential Aged Care, Community Aged Care, Disability and Dental & Allied Health.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence others, drive cultural change and gain support for relevant initiatives.
  • Experience in the development and monitoring of robust compliance frameworks which includes monitoring, supervision and reporting processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working agilely in complex environments is essential.
