The roles
Join a dynamic team as a part-time or full-time Advanced Trainee within a supportive environment to further develop your professional skills across both our Richmond and Geelong campuses, with the flexibility of working at a single location or working at both sites. Advanced Trainees can refine clinical skills by managing and being responsible for their own patient case-load, receiving timely diagnostic information and communicating directly with expert specialists in other fields. Combined with roster flexibility and senior DEMT tuition, it’s an ideal environment to prepare for fellowship exams. Weekly education sessions are held at our state-of the-art Clinical Education and Simulation Centres.

You will make an impact by;

  • Having excellent communication skills
  • Collaborating with emergency and other specialist colleagues to optimise clinical outcomes for patient
  • Providing and being responsible for the care you can provide each patient

To be successful in the role:
You will be a motivated and organised Advanced Trainee who enjoys the hands-on management of emergency medicine cases and thrives on the learning opportunities gained, by daily communication, with senior emergency and other specialist colleagues.

You will have:

  • Advanced trainee status with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
  • Anaesthetic and Intensive Care experience preferred
  • A MBBS degree, or equivalent
  • Completed and passed your first part emergency specialist exam
  • Be at least PGY +3

Epworth Richmond Emergency Department is Victoria’s busiest private sector Emergency Department, with over 30,000 presentations per year, over 40% admission rate and access to 24/7 cardiac catheterisation lab, theatres, stroke unit, CT, MRI and intensive care facilities. We are the preferred referral centre for major sporting bodies, major corporations, events and VIP visitors to Victoria. 6-month rotations available.

About Epworth Geelong

We have a 17-bed state-of-the-art Emergency Department opened 1 July 2016, access to 24/7 cardiac catheterisation lab, theatres, stroke unit, CT, MRI and intensive care facilities . Over 12,000 presentations per year, with a stimulating clinical environment with broad case-mix and open access to Specialists . Located adjacent to Deakin University faculty of Medicine. Accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 6 months advanced training.
