What you'll be doing

To provide and support the development of Clinical Haematology and Haematopathology services to patients within the Coffs Clinical Network and support the Clinical Services Plan for the Coffs Clinical Network.

The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia, obtained fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia in Laboratory Haematology and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Clinical Haematology and/or other Specialist recognition as provided under the Staff specialists (State) Award.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases

If you are applying for a Category A position, under the NSW Health Policy Directive PD2020_017, evidence of current immunity status that complies with the policy must be supplied.

Selection Criteria

  1. Currently registered, or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia, obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia in Laboratory Haematology and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Clincial Haematology and/or other Specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialist (State) Award. 
  2. Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in the specialities of Clinical and Laboratory Haematology.
  3. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
  4. Demonstrated clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  6. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  8. Current driver’s licence.
