Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Public Health Epidemiologist to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!

Do you have high-level technical expertise in epidemiologic methods and the investigation of public health problems, including a Masters degree in Public Health, or equivalent experience?

The Public Health Epidemiologist is responsible for providing high-level technical expertise and support to the Public Health Unit and LHD facilities to prepare for and respond to infectious disease emergencies and other acute public health problems. In addition, it is responsible for the oversight and management of the Public Health Unit’s research program.

The position also contributes directly to the day to day teamwork within the unit, especially in response to communicable diseases and the LHD response to COVID-19.

The position has three major areas of work: epidemiologic surveillance, preparing and responding to public health incidents and emergencies, and leading a strong research team. Currently, much of this work will focus on the LHD response to COVID-19.
