Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What You'll Be Doing

Aged Day Services (ADS) provide social support group programs and activities for older people. These programs help promote health and wellbeing and maximise levels of functional ability and independence of older people and carers living in their community.

Provide direct nursing care to clients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Nurse Unit Manager. Support a system of quality improvement through which outcomes of client care may be measured and contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required.

Communicate effectively with clients and other health care team members. Presents a positive image of Community Health Service to the public through a respectful, courteous and professional manner. Advocates values of the organisation through ethical behaviour, professionalism and cultural diversity.

This position works with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic client care which includes client health assessments, care planning, client activity program delivery and referral to other health care providers.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant clinical experience in speciality.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Demonstrate ability to utilise information technology within a variety of applications and willingness to undertake training
  • Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia and willingness to use for work purposes
