  • Mount Barker Dental Centre is looking for a friendly, experienced and motivated Practice Manager / Receptionist to join their team!

    About the Opportunity

    Reporting to the Practice Principal, the Practice Manager / Receptionist will be responsible for the smooth coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Mount Barker Dental Centre.

    This role will manage a team of 12 Dental Assistants and Reception/Administration staff, as well as support the Practice Principal in the management of the Dentists and Oral Health Therapists.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Manager Responsibilities:
      • Managing the team of Dental Assistants and Reception Staff including running team meetings, rostering, and supporting them toward development goals.
      • Managing practice operations such as stock/supply management and the maintenance of facilities and clinic equipment.
      • Providing support to the Accounts/Finance function when required with preparation of reports, highlighting issues that may arise and liaising with the external Accountant.
      • In consultation with the Practice Principal; identifying and implementing continuous improvement strategies across administrative systems and procedures.
    • Reception Responsibilities:
      • Sharing tasks with Reception staff (and leading by example) in ensuring patient-focussed appointment scheduling, customer service, patient recall / treatment plan management and cleaning is managed effectively and of the highest standard
      • Account management tasks such as processing payments, following up debtors, formulating payment plans, and adhoc banking duties 
      • Updating and maintaining the Practice website.

    This role will be offered as permanent full time.

    About You

    We are looking for candidates with previous experience successfully managing staff, who have an understanding of (or exposure to) business/financial management, and who have ideally worked in a similar role as a Practice Manager, Coordinator or Team Leader in a similar environment. 

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Substantial experience in managing direct report(s)
    • A caring and 'customer-focused' approach ensuring patient care is always a priority
    • An ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
    • Have a demonstrated ability to control costs and consider the key drivers of profit and loss in day to day decision making
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
    • Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work, deal with competing demands, use initiative, manage time effectively and consistently meet outcomes
    • Intermediate to advanced computing skills including Office365 programs
    • A polished and professional presentation

    It would be ideal (but not essential) if you have: 

    • A suitable/relevant qualification such as Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Business or Business Administration
    • Past experience using Dental Management Software such as Dental 4 Windows
