JOB DESCRIPTION

SENIOR THERAPEUTIC SPECIALIST

THE ROLE

Location: Canberra

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + Super + Salary Packaging

Open to Full Time or Part Time, Permanent

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for guiding and supporting carer and staff interactions with children and young people, conducting assessments, developing therapeutic treatment plans and leading reflective practice to support carers and staff to develop their therapeutic skills. In addition, the Senior Therapeutic Specialist will as required provide therapeutic services including Family Therapy directly to the children, young people and families who are clients of our services.

CRITERIA

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field, such as Psychology or Social Work
  • Ideally registered with a body such as AASW or AHPRA
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Experience in facilitating care meetings
  • Experience working with OOHC and Child Protection
  • Understanding of mental health and trauma
  • Understanding of Aboriginal Culture
  • Experience completing assessments of children and young people
  • Must have Drivers Licence and own vehicle
