JOB DESCRIPTION


The Position 



Position Title: Medical Imaging Technologist
Classification: Grade 1 
Salary per hour (exc. super): Dependent on experience
Hours per fortnight: 80 hour
Employment Status: Fixed Term (21/06/2021 - 24/12/2021)



Key Responsibilities:



  • Operate within the legal boundaries and Codes of Practice that govern the Imaging industry

  • Demonstrate a raised level of technical ability and skills in the production of the highest quality diagnostic images that are reasonably achievable given the patient condition and in accordance with the ALARA principles.

  • Ensure all examinations are performed efficiently with timing governed by clinical and patient need. 

  • Ensure all examinations are presented for reporting with minimum delay and with accurate recording of associated details.


Key Requirements:



  • AHPRA Registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner is mandatory

  • A current Victorian Radiation Use Licence is mandatory

  • Demonstrated high level experience and skills in general radiology, trauma radiology, PACS or RIS

  •  Flexibility to operate in an environment that requires constant prioritising of work and competing demands

The Team


The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute and mental health services. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and speciality services including; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics and Mental Health Services.


Within a state-of-the-art hospital, the team provides high-quality services using the latest technologies. Our eleven operating theatres (including two endoscopy rooms), critical care, emergency and women’s wards all have access to critical services lifts that link to the helipad allowing rapid transfer of patients both in and out of the health service.
