Located on the beautiful Great South Coast, South West Healthcare offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and psychiatric services. The organisation serves a catchment in excess of 110,000 and comprises of a total of 282 beds and an extensive range of primary and community services. Warrnambool boasts excellent sporting, education (pre-school to university), social and cultural facilities. The city’s award winning foreshore promenade is a 5.7km path that stretches from the breakwater along the coastline to the Hopkins River mouth.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a counselling service to assist employees with personal problems and/or work-related problems that may be impacting their job performance, mental health and emotional wellbeing.

About the role

EAP is based predominately in Warrnambool but provides services across all SWH campuses. The highly specialised and highly proficient team is seeking applications from committed and dynamic social work/mental health professionals to join them and provide experience, growth and development to our service.

The position is permanent with both full time and part time applicants encouraged to apply.

What you bring

As an experienced Clinician with a background in counselling you will have a sound appreciation of evidence-based counselling and coping strategies. You will value the importance of compassion and confidentiality and be cognisant of organisational dynamics and the challenges that come with working in a large, complex organisation

The successful applicant/s must have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative, with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to demonstrate good judgement, work planning, decision-making abilities and organisational skills.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line with the Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020 or Victorian Public Health Sector (Medical Scientists, Pharmacists & Psychologists) Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021with the applicable classification Grade 2

The successful applicant will be required to be eligible for and undergo the following:
