The Health Services Manager works along side the management team. The position objective is to manage, provision and provide overall primary healthcare services to metropolitan, regional and remote healthcare centers. This position leads and co-ordinates healthcare service delivery across strategically located centers which currently includes, NSW, VIC and QLD.

This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer The responsibilities of the Health Services Manager include;

  • Maintain awareness of current and new legislation to ensure the practice is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations including industrial and employment law, workplace health and safety requirements, privacy obligations and taxation responsibilities;
  • Ensure practice complies with all accreditation obligations and standards
  • Participate and ensure effective staff development
  • Prepare and deliver status and progress reports to detailing operational efficiencies and progression towards initiatives, as well as identifying areas needing improvement and suggestions for reallocations
  • Ensure that the organisation reaches key milestones in short and long term strategic planning by identifying workforce needs.
  • Ensure the organisation meets the demands of resource management in the delivery of holistic primary healthcare
  • Plan, implement and evaluate healthcare services delivered through metropolitan, regional and remote healthcare centres.
  • Efficiently manage the delivery of healthcare services in line with the organisations strategic objectives and within budget constraints.
  • Provide leadership and foster the development and maintenance of a 'change' culture that encourages continuous learning and personal development, staff appraisal, accountability, teamwork, and awareness of and commitment to the organisations goals and objectives.
  • Represent the organisation at various forums and meetings as determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Ensure that information and administrative systems are developed across healthcare clinics. In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and , develop and implement systems for the collection of data to meet reporting requirements. Optimise Medicare and related returns.
  • Develop, maintain and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure practice complies with required clinical and administrative standards.
  • Compliance across clinics with the specialists, pharmacies and allied health services, clinical best practice in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in the management field.
  • A high level of effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and in writing, and the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relations with executives, senior management and staff across a range of services.
  • Experience in financial, operational and resource management, and a sound understanding of primary health care service delivery.
  • An understanding of Medicare billing items in primary health care and the ability to optimise Medicare billing practices.

Annual Salary package: $60,000 - $80,000
