The Opportunity

This is an incredible opportunity for you to take the next step in your career as a Psychologist.

As a high performing Psychologist you will provide quality evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention, per the psychologist’s eligibility, prior training and professional competence, to a diverse group of clients experiencing psychological challenges, including residents of aged care and private clients across both clinic-based and community settings; under the any of the following schemes: Medicare Better access to mental health care scheme, SIRA Workcover, NDIS, DVA, Victims of crime, Private fee- paying clients and Residents of aged care facilities.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Provide direct therapy using a range of evidence-based modalities (CBT, creative therapies, narrative therapy, DBT, etc)
  • Understand and implement strategies based upon the model of Positive Behaviour Support
  • Not perform psychological intervention without the relevant training and or supervision.
  • Understand and select appropriate assessment/s and interventions based on client needs and goals and write and deliver clear psychological assessment reports.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and record keeping in accordance with the code of conduct specified by the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Liaise with families, other health professionals and service providers as required to ensure person-centered, holistic and quality service delivery.
  • Provide all relevant updates, reviews, plans and documents to NDIA as specified in the services agreements
  • Participate in peer professional development within the team through mentoring, sharing of resources, strategies, activities and experience and peer reviews
