Paediatric Physiotherapy at Monash Health

The physiotherapy team at Monash Children’s Hospital provides physiotherapy services to neonates, infants, children, adolescents and young adults, across a wide spectrum of clinical areas including neurology, respiratory, general paediatrics and orthopaedics.

A bit about this Role

As the Grade 3 clinical specialist in paediatric critical care, you will be responsible for providing specialist clinical knowledge and supporting the Grade 4 Physiotherapy Profession Lead to expertly lead this clinical team and service within Monash Children’s Hospital Allied Health. You will deliver inpatient services to infants, children and adolescents in the paediatric intensive care unit and on the inpatient wards at Monash Children’s Hospital. You will co-ordinate the weekend and late shift services and lead the education to both physiotherapy and multidisciplinary colleagues in the physiotherapy management of paediatric critical care patients.

You will be responsible for leading delegated responsibilities to provide best practice patient care, achieving maximal operational effectiveness, developing organisational competencies, and creating strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health. You will hold specialist clinical knowledge in the field of Paediatric Physiotherapy critical care. This role supervises Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and physiotherapy students.

What we’re looking for in you

  • A relevant physiotherapy qualification

  • Current unconditional AHPRA registration

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

  • Significant physiotherapy clinical experience (at least 7 years)

  • Experience in the management of paediatric critical care patients

  • Leadership &/or service development experience

Salary packaging is available.


The role will be based at Monash Children’s Hospital. Travel may also be required to Casey and Dandenong Hospitals, and community locations.
