About the Role


The primary function of the role is decision making with regard to information released for applications received and processed under the Freedom of Information Act and other health related legislation. The role is also responsible for assisting with administrative tasks across the Release of Information and Freedom of Information Units as required.


Working closely with a dedicated team, your key responsibilities will include:



  • Accurate and timely processing of Freedom of Information requests

  • Compliance with relevant legislation

  • Consulting with applicants, third parties, and other agencies;

  • Liaising with other internal staff and departments across Monash Health; and

  • Administrative support for the coordination and release of health information to external requestors in both the Release of Information and Freedom of Information Units.


The successful applicant will have on the job training, and access to external training courses relating to Freedom of Information.


About You


You are highly motivated, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. Ideally, you have previous administrative experience within the health sector or have previously worked in a similar role. You can easily demonstrate the following attributes:



  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Team player

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain your focus and enthusiasm through challenging and repetitive administrative tasks

  • Previous Freedom of Information experience, knowledge of related legislation and medical terminology is desirable


Our team members have shared accountability and responsibility for the work managed by the Unit. Accordingly, the ability to work cohesively with others is essential.


What you need to know:



  • Permanent Full-Time position (80 hours per fortnight with an ADO)

  • Monday to Friday (hours negotiable)

  • You will likely have the opportunity to work within other areas of the department to meet business needs
