About our Acute Intervention Service at Monash Health


Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.


The Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS) includes the Enhanced Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (ECATT) (CATT) Hospital in the Home, PARCS providing service across the Dandenong Catchment area.


About The Role


The Acute Intervention Service provides acute and crisis assessments through CATT and ECATT teams. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team involved in short term interventions and providing evidence based treatment to consumers of the service. There is a strong focus on consumer/carer participation


The position will ensure a comprehensive assessment, collaborative treatment design and appropriate referral of consumers presenting to a multidisciplinary team. The position will require an individual with skills which will enable them to liaise closely with a number of community agencies and clinical teams including the Emergency Department and Victoria Police to ensure best practice care is provided


We can offer either full-time or part time ongoing opportunities, working across a roster over seven days per week, 24 hours per day, in accordance with core service demands.


About You


You are an accomplished Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker 2 or Occupational Therapist 2 with extensive experience in Adult Mental Health. You are consumer focused and lead by example, and have a sound understanding of complex Mental Health issues and can demonstrate advanced knowledge and skillset in provision of evidence-based, best practice assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation of outcomes.


You have the ability to collaborate with colleagues and consumers family or carers with professional and effective communication, and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all consumers. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.

What you need:



  • Relevant qualifications – Postgraduate Certification in Mental Health

  • Demonstrated mental health nursing experience

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Australian working rights
