As Senior Manager of Government Affairs you will maintain and enhance Stryker’s brand and reputation as a trusted partner to Federal Government, State Government, Industry bodies and affiliated organisation’s.

Working closely with the President and Senior Director Commercial & Public Affairs, the successful candidate will take a leading role in developing and influencing Federal and State Government policy, supporting health reform, engagement key Ministerial offices and departments to ensure Stryker’s and wider industry interests are represented.

As part of the division leadership team, this position takes an overall view of business success for Stryker across Australia and New Zealand.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Develop over-arching government relations strategy
  • External facing role, acting on behalf of the business in the healthcare environment
  • Develop and maintain external relations across Industry peak bodies
  • Optimize and influence private reimbursement process
  • Manage external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to promote Stryker objectives with Government relations (both Federal and State)
  • Champion, maintain and develop industry leading role for Stryker and raise company profile
  • Advise on healthcare environment innovations
  • Work with range of internal departments from pricing to clinical and marketing team
  • Drive and support strategic and business planning programs to deliver medium and long term business improvements
  • Contribute to and drive strategic business outcomes
  • Maintain an exemplary record of compliance and quality standards
  • Drive a quality culture through implementation of continuous process improvements
  • Corporate policy development to meet relevant national and international standards
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Relevant legislation and regulations relating to ANZ quality and regulatory programs
  • Bring Government (both Federal and State) connections and existing relationships
  • Business process re-engineering methodologies and business improvement techniques
  • Leadership and change management strategies and processes to strategically drive long term business objectives.
  • Passion to drive a quality culture across the business
  • Negotiation and communication skills
  • Effectively build relationships with senior members of the community and government
  • Previous experience as a business manager and demonstrated track record of success in business development
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business or related discipline are essential.
