Title: Rehabilitation Registrar

Department: Geriatric, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Medicine

Classification: HM25 to HM30
Salary: as per award

Hours: 86 per fortnight
Status: One full time Registrar position 6 months commencing from August 2021;

The Position

Bendigo Health is offering 1 six month training position with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. The successful candidate will be allocated to our Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation ward (which includes amputee, MSK/orthopaedic as well as transplant patients from the Austin Hospital).

Registrars will participate in relevant training sessions according to the AFRM curriculum and are closely linked with Rehabilitation Medicine Training Victoria. The role also involves attending various outpatient clinics (including Spasticity management clinic) and participating in rehabilitation assessments, as well as some after-hours subacute ward cover. There is also the opportunity to work closely with an excellent team of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine Physicians. Successful candidates are strongly encouraged to engage in research and quality improvement activities.

Essential:
01.MBBS or equivalent degree with current General Registration with AHPRA.

Essential:
02.At least 3 years post-graduate experience.

03.Current membership of the College training program.

Essential:
04.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients.

Essential:
05.Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers.

Desirable:
06.High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with patients and their families and other health professionals

Desirable:
07.Evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills.

08.Ability to effectively use organisational skills (incorporating documentation, time management skills, critical thinking and priority setting).
