JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated, experienced intensive care nurse to join the leadership team at Footscray Intensive Care. The associate nurse unit manager (ANUM) is primarily responsible for the day to day running of the unit, ensuring a high standard of patient care is provided, and ensures safe patient flow within the unit to give timely care for our patients and their families.


As an ANUM, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide a safe working environment for staff, patients and their families whilst ensuring the highest standard of patient care is being delivered in line with Western Health’s values and policies. Footscray ICU has a strong emphasis on promoting positive workplace culture and is involved in numerous quality improvement projects within Western Health and its community.


With the planning phase of New Footscray Hospital underway, the opportunities for a dynamic, passionate and progressive individual to join our team are limitless as we look to the future and the development of new services within the Intensive Care Unit. With a unit focused on teamwork, excellence in clinical care and progression, what could you bring to the team?


To be successful in this role, you will need to:



  • Hold a current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Have completed a post graduate qualification in critical/intensive care nursing

  • Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes.

  • Be a positive role model and have strong clinical and interpersonal skills.

  • Be accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style.

  • Be an effective team player


Previous management experience would be advantageous but not essential.


All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory national police check, valid working with children and relevant reference checks.
