About us

COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 Accommodation response, including:

  • Mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
  • Emergency Accommodation for people that cannot safely isolate/quarantine in their accommodation.

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, CQV is responsible for the operation of Victoria's Emergency Accommodation program for community members and their close contacts who have tested positive for COVID-19 and where an assessment has concluded that there are no other suitable alternative accommodation options for self-isolation.

Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.

About the role

Play a critical role as a Regional Manager, Infection Control providing leadership and strategic guidance based on high level expertise of outbreak management and infection control strategies to reduce infection rates at a group of quarantine hotels to ensure a safe environment for returning travellers, staff and individuals within the community undertaking quarantine.

This role will require you work on weekend and overnight on-call work will be required.

This role also includes:

  • Conduct thematic reviews of non-compliance and implement strategic remedial action plans to present to infection prevention and control governance committees
  • Build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including members of the local community, as well as colleagues within the government and the non-government sectors
  • Apply expert knowledge to audit inspections for control and prevention of infection of mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation hotels
  • Understand the interface between a multidisciplinary team, hotel management, health staff, Victoria Police and work collaboratively to deliver required services.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Leadership qualities with the ability to priorities and maximise productive working relationships and drive behaviour change.
  • Senior relationship management skills and working across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in evaluating workplace practices against accreditation standards, quality systems, and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyse and review qualitative and quantitative data, clinical outcomes, identify trends and drive opportunities for improvement.
  • Post graduate qualification in infection prevention and control or related discipline.
  • A full and current driver's licence or a minimum P2 equivalent driver's licence.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Certificate IV in Assessment and Training is desirable.
