Activities Worker

About the role:
As a result of recent growth in our Social Conncetion teams, exciting opportunities exist for multiple Activities Workers to join our client care teams to assist with the delivery and evaluation of activity programs and the development of innovative approaches to meeting the individual needs of clients. Services are delivered in centre-based group activities, community outing groups and 1:1 social support.
With a minimum of a Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent, the ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering engaging activities and social programs for clients and their carer, including dementia care, along with a demonstrated ability to relate to a diverse range of people.

  • Minimum Cert III in Individual Support, or equivalent
  • Ability to develop and provide appropriate leisure activities for our clients
  • Food safety certificate and enjoy preparing and serving food
  • Capacity to drive a Uniting AgeWell bus/car on outings
  • Flexibility to undertake various shifts across our Centres
  • A commitment to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are willing to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church
You will need:
  • A current driver’s licence and current Working With Children’s Check (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Full Australian working rights and a current police records check (or be willing to obtain one)
  • A current flu vaccination and be prepared to meet this annual requirement
