About Department
St Vincent's Operating Suite houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. We undertake over 12,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialties over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week.

About the Role
You are responsible for the efficient 'day to day' running of the main reception of the Operating Suite. You will provide professional customer service to both internal staff and external visitors, accurately update the theatre grid and produce the daily theatre list for both the current and next day and produce, any other statistical data as requested. The reception role is important as it provides the first impression to the Operating Suite and secondly this role provides important gate keeping to ensure clear necessary communication and minimal disruption to the Operating Suite team.

The classification for this position will be HS1 ($58,442 per annum pro rata).

Duties

  • Compile, update & post spreadsheet of Weekly Theatre Grids incorporating any changes as advised and ensuring these changes are updated in the PAS system
  • Answer all incoming calls and relay calls to relevant areas/personnel
  • Facilitate the issue of locker keys for both visitors and permanent staff
  • Ensure timely data entry, collation and distribution of the next day's theatre list in the PAS system
  • Accept, distribute and dispatch all incoming and outgoing mail

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Formal Education: minimum of Year 10 education
  • Specific Training Courses: Medical terminology
  • Experience within Healthcare Industry
  • Highly developed Interpersonal and communicational skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management to meet set deadlines
