About The Role

The registered midwife will be expected to work in all roles in the clinic setting including: Midwives clinics, booking in clinics and midwives community clinics, midwives diabetic clinic, midwives clinic in the Correctional Centres Midwifery Postnatal Services (home visiting), and backfill in the Early Pregnancy Service and the Clinical midwives in clinic. The registered midwife will also be expected to facilitate virtual antenatal classes with women and their support people. All midwives in the clinic work alongside the doctors and offer support when needed. Relevant clinical experience within the specialty of Antenatal/Postnatal Care (minimum 3 years fulltime equivalent) is required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of Antenatal/Postnatal midwifery practice delivering competent midwifery care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
  • Ability to provide Patient and Family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Midwife.
  • Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional midwifery care.
  • Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Midwife when expert advice is required.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
  • Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care.
