  • Total Indicative Remuneration: $328,245 - $608,859 p.a. (pro-rata) - MD02; Permanent Part-Time - 15 hrs per week

The Paediatric Specialist will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to them in collaboration with the responsible Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Midwives, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. Whilst being responsible for the care of patients in outpatient clinics and the care of admitted patients. 

Will be required to - 

In this role the Specialist will provide support to the Emergency Department for management of critically unwell Paediatric patients. The Specialist will participate in the after-hours on-call roster across Neonatology in a Level 5 unit, and may be required to participate in the Children's Ward and Child Protection Service after-hours on-call as determined by the Head of Unit (HOU). You will have involvement in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and Auditing, whilst being a mentor and resource for Nurses and Midwives.
This Specialist will also be required to provide teaching and mentoring to trainees of all levels and disciplines and participate in all ongoing training and CPD requirements. You will participate and encourage clinical research and be prepared to work across both Modbury Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital sites as directed by the HOU/ Divisional director (Medical). 
The Specialist will liaise with other divisions and services of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, with other health providers in the community and hospital sector and with the broader community in the pursuit of comprehensive patient care. As well as provide care of all patients regardless of race, religion or past history.
Essential Minimum Requirements - 
> Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
> Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
