The Psychologist is part of the multidisciplinary team of community and inpatient Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) and is responsible for providing a specialised psychology service for older adults with complex psychological disorders. These services will be provided in an accessible manner which is responsive to the needs of the individual. The Psychologist applies specialised expertise in the area of psychology and ageing to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality clinical work and provides psychology-specific assessments, evidence-informed interventions and treatment and consultancy to the multi-disciplinary team. The Psychologist works collaboratively with consumers, their families/carers and may liaise closely with a network of government and non-government organisations to assist consumers whose severity of mental disorder and/or level of disability necessitate regular review and follow-up to facilitate improved functioning.

Essential minimum requirement in working with consumers with complex mental health presentations. Effective participation in multi-disciplinary team environment in health, mental health or aged care, working with older adults and clients from a range of cultural-linguistic backgrounds.

Experience in the application of a range of evidence based psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention strategies with the mental health stream. Mandatory Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.

You must have the appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

This is a part time, ongoing vacancy. Working 37.50 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
