Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.


An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Theatre Optimisation Program Project Lead to join our Service Improvement and Innovation Team at 1.0EFT for 12 months.


Details of Position


Reporting to the Program Manager Clinical Programs, the Theatre Optimisation Program Project Lead will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary Service Improvement and InnovationTeam. The team leads and supports the organisation to deliver improvements in care, systems and processes with the primary aim of facilitating safe, high quality outcomes across Austin Health.


The Theatre Optimisation Program Project Lead will provide subject matter expert and project management knowledge and experience to ensure the delivery of key improvement initiatives. This is a major strategic initiative, helping Austin Health to achieve our vision; shaping the future through exceptional care, discovery and learning.


To be successful in this role you will:



  • be driven and experienced in surgical services operations and workflows, and project management, with a track record of achieving improvement project deliverables 

  • have the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, establish and maintain strong working relationships and influence others at all levels, in the pursuit of a common vision or goal

  • have a strong record of motivating and developing others through effective leadership and capability building

  • be flexible, adaptable and able to work in ambiguous and complex situations

  • demonstrate a committment to Austin Health values
