JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager to lead, support and empower the Perioperative Services team at a private hospital in Perth. THE ROLE As a Nurse Manager, you will be working within the 12 Operating Theatres using some of the latest modern technology. You will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources within the department, with primary responsibility for the scrub/scout team, theatre bookings,/public waitlisting teams. You will be planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services within the department to ensure that the departments fully meet the requirements of our patients, stakeholders and organisation. You will also be responsible for working with and supporting other managers in achieving excellence in care delivery, in line with best practice and legislative requirements. Working closely with the Deputy Director of Clinical Services – Perioperative and Surgical, you will help shape organisational strategies, improve procedural service provisions and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives. THE CANDIDATE As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Theatre Setting;
  • A high level of understanding in the area of Perioperative Services;
  • Demonstrated experience of successful clinical leadership of the perioperative team;
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources;
  • Highly developed understanding of clinical governance, quality and safety in healthcare;
  • Positive and well developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications and/or management qualifications highly regarded;
  • Previous experience in a management position/senior nursing role highly regarded;
  • Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification desired;
  • Sound computer skills using MS Office programs, including Excel.
