JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity is available for a professional and customer-focused team player to join and support our thriving Theatre Department as a Clerical Bookings Officer. We currently have a permanent part time opportunity (45 hours per fortnight) and a fixed term contract offering 74 hours per fortnight for 8-12 months.


The Opportunity

As a Clerical Bookings Officer, you will provide support and assistance in managing the Theatre Department and, coordinating and scheduling all theatre booking requirements for patients for admission. In addition, you will carry out health fund eligibility checks, interpreting health fund information and providing Informed Financial Consent.

As the first point of contact for our patients and their families, you will strive to deliver an exceptional customer service experience for all. This role will also see you effectively manage incoming and outgoing calls and liaising with both internal and external customers and health professionals to maintain effective workflow.



About You

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong keyboard and computer skills using the MS Office suite of products
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Efficient organisation skills and ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes
  • Willingness to accept and promote Ramsay’s core values

Desirable criteria:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role within a hospital or medical practice setting
  • Certificate in Medical Terminology
  • Experience using hospital mainframe systems (IBA or Meditech)
  • Working knowledge of various health insurance criteria

This role requires the flexibility to work a variety of shifts on a rotational basis between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.
