Healthy Living NT is seeking an experienced Cardiac Educator to join their team in Darwin.

What's the role?

The key responsibility of the role is to provide rehabilitation services to enhance the well-being of all people with cardiac conditions and other related conditions.

You will coordinate, manage, and conduct the urban cardiac rehabilitation program and assist in the delivery of ongoing education for clients with cardiac disease in remote and regional areas of the NT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource person to other health professionals by delivering informal and formal education services
  • Participate in educational programs for cardiac rehabilitation in the community
  • Support clients in the development of their individualised cardiac rehabilitation plan
  • Deliver educational programs to health professionals to increase their cardiac education and rehabilitation knowledge, skills and service delivery

Is the role right for you?

Whilst appropriate tertiary qualifications in cardiac rehabilitation/cardiac nursing and experience in cardiac rehabilitation is desirable, what will really see you thrive at healthy living is possessing high motivation, strong initiative and time management skills

Before you reach out and apply, we need you to have:

  • Unrestricted working rights within Australia
  • AHPRA Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience in cardiac nursing and providing cardiac rehabilitation services
  • The ability to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion and educational programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to participate in a small multidisciplinary team within a cross cultural environment
  • Post graduate nursing qualifications in cardiac or critical care (highly regarded)

What's it like living in Darwin?

The climate of Darwin is mainly tropical, with the dry months from May to September and the wet months usually from December to March. Temperatures range from 25-33°C in the wet season and 20-30°C in the dry season. The city's multicultural mix is highlighted by its many exciting cultural festivals and weekly food and craft markets.
