Fixed Term - 12 months

An exciting opportunity for Research Assistant - Clinical Studies exists within the Dept. Infectious Diseases at the Peter Mac. We run the National Centre for Infections in Cancer which aims to minimise the risk and impact of infections in cancer. We have a number of investigator initiated and pharmaceutical company sponsored clinical studies for novel anti-infection drugs, infection prophylaxis and novel diagnostic tests that are run by a team of senior clinicians and research nurses at the Peter Mac and Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The incumbent will primarily be responsible for managing investigator-initiated clinical studies to ensure patient safety, data integrity and successful completion of clinical studies in accordance with ICH GCP and relevant regulatory bodies. The incumbent will coordinate patients’ recruitment and biospecimen collections, perform database design and data entry on REDCap and provide administrative support for the research projects including preparing HRECs annual progress report, invoice study milestones and data management. This is a 1.0 EFT position for one year with provision to renew. This position may involve some biobanking laboratory work - optional.
