An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated mental health nurse to undertake an ongoing position in the Consultation Liaison team.

Ballarat Health Services – Ballarat Mental Health Services (BHS – BMHS) is a dynamic Area Mental Health Service striving to provide the highest standards of treatment for the City of Ballarat and local surrounding communities, while maintaining a commitment to a continuously improving clinical environment.

The Clinical Liaison Nurse is a key clinical and leadership role and will asist in the development of the Clinical Liaison Team. The Clinical Liaison Team consists of a Psychiatric Registrar and Clinical Liaison Nurses. The Clinical Liaison Nurse role is rostered to provide services between 9am and 5pm, across 7 days of the week.

Highly desired is knowledge and experience of assessing and supporting persons presenting with Dual Diagnosis. Provision of expert nursing consultation and liaison service to support the management of complex patients with problematic behavioural and or clinical mental health co-morbid presentations and other healthcare professionals working in the acute sector. The Clinical Liaison Nurse provides clinical support to nursing and other healthcare professionals working under the Acute Operations Directorate in Base Hospital inpatient wards consistent with the principles of Consultation Liaison Psychiatric Nursing.
