Your new team

The RMH Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit has 15 Consultant Plastic Surgeons, 3 local Accredited Registrars, 1 International Fellows, 1 local Unaccredited Registrar and 5 Residents. The Unit specialises in microsurgical reconstruction for breast, head & neck cancer and lower limb trauma. The Unit also manages a large number of general plastic surgery cases, including elective and post-traumatic hand surgery, facial trauma, brachial plexus injuries and provides a broad reconstructive service to all specialties.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Support and assist the HOU in their day to day activities and the smooth running of the Unit

  • Be the ‘face’ of the unit on a Monday And Friday- answer all email and phone call enquiries

  • Support consultant, registrar and residents in all things administrative

  • Liaise with different departments of the hospital, private practices and management

  • Work autonomously but also in a team

  • Take initiative in certain tasks

  • Maintain databases to a high level of accuracy

Your Contribution

  • Demonstrate motivation, initiative and self-direction

  • High level computing skills are required in all MS office software programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Internet Explorer

  • Advanced accurate typing skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and/or arithmetic, problem solving, administrative and communication skills both verbal and written

  • Strong time management ability and organisational skills essential

  • Capable of functioning semi autonomously as well as an effective member of a team

  • Ability to prioritise work within established policies, guidelines and procedures

  • Responsible for work performed with a substantial level of accountability
