Ward G1 & Ward F2 - John Hunter Hospital

About the role:
This is an rewarding opportunity for a dependable and motivated Assistant in Nursing to join our dedicated team at John Hunter Hospital. This role will see you provide individualised and excellent patient care within our Ward G1 (General Medicine and Endocrinology) and Ward F2 (Respiratory Immunology Dermatology and Rheumatology) to maximise the health outcomes for the patient, under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse.

Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital, teaching hospital and community hospital featuring fifteen operating theatres, 550 adult beds and 101 paediatric beds. With the busiest ED in the state, major trauma centre for Northern NSW and delivering services to people of all ages from birth, to childhood and adulthood, it is a great place to develop or start your career.

About you:
The successful candidate will have a certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree, or have equivalent experience. You will have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and have the ability to apply sensitivity when interacting with patients. You be a quick thinker with strong listening and questioning skills to identity needs and expectations. You will be a team player and will be able to manage conflicts and complex situations as they arise.
