Stomal Therapy Nurse

Sub-Acute Non Admitted

RN Grade 3B
Permanent Part Time
(8 hrs per fortnight)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Registered Nurses to join our dedicated Sub-Acute Non Admitted team as aStomal Therapy Nurse. This permanent part time position is available from May 2021 and includes working Monday to Friday and involves enhancing individual independence through comprehensive assessment, timely responsive specialist care, education and care planning. The successful applicant will liaise with clients and carers, and provide specialist stomal therapy in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Selection Criteria include:


  • Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA

  • Experience working in a clinical setting as a Registered Nurse

  • Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care of clients with stomal issues

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical education and support

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with other team members and clients, including participation in relevant networks

  • Advanced interpersonal, organisational, problem solving, time management and decision making skills

  • Evidence of ongoing self-development

  • Current drivers licence

  • Well-developed computer skills


  • Registration with AASTN (Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses)

  • Clinical experience in Stomal Therapy and Wound Care

  • Completion of a Post-Graduation Stomal Therapy Certificate or willingness to complete

  • Experience in a Community nursing setting
