About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory Manager and key stakeholder’s the role of Quality Manger is to manage the Clinpath Quality Management System. The role is a full-time permanent position. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive quality and change in an innovative work environment. With state of the art technology and a commitment towards service excellence this role will suit someone who can drive a culture of continuous improvement and work collaboratively with the day to day management team to manage risk and promote compliance.

In the Quality Manager role, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Quality and Risk Management Systems ensuring compliance with the requirements of ISO 15189 and NPAAC.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a quality role or a scientific role within a laboratory, hospital setting or a highly related environment. Demonstrating experience in accurate, timely reporting of audits, implementation and monitoring of quality improvements, compliance and risk management.

A proven ability to implement and evaluate quality and risk management systems, policies and procedures that support clinical governance systems and contribute to the achievement of accreditation.

Providing excellent timely communication, you will advise and support management in relation to all aspects of Quality and Risk management; through the implementation of strategies.

Duties:

  • Consultation, training and communication with key stakeholders /departments on matters relating to the Quality System;
  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of ISO 15189 and NPAAC and all other regulatory requirements;
  • Management of the Quality Management System, ensuring ensure operations are in accordance with this;
  • Riskman review and training;
  • Implementation and auditing of quality systems in accordance with relevant Australian and international standards.
  • Consultation with relevant accreditation bodies, such as NATA;
  • Preparation and control of quality documentation & reports;
  • Coordination and participation in internal auditing programs;
  • Participation in risk management and quality meetings;
  • Management of incidents and complaints processes, with a focus on continual improvement;
  • Risk management and assessment; and
  • Responsible for ensuring structures and processes are in place to support compliance with standards of accreditation and licencing.

Applicants should possess the following:

  • An understanding of laboratory operations, including quality standards and processes (preferred);
  • Previous quality management, experience highly regarded;
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards, TGA protocols and QMS, with auditor experience highly regarded;
  • Experiences with hosting regulatory inspections, sponsor audits an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines;
  • Accuracy and detail oriented;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications (excel, outlook);
  • A passion for continuous improvement;
  • An ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
  • Comprehensive communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to build and maintain effective relationships;
  • A can do attitude, with the ability to work calmly under pressure;
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Science, Medical Science or related discipline (Medical laboratory science preferred); and
  • A minimum 2 years’ practical experience in a Quality role or medical scientist role.
