The Role

Maryvale Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Hospital Educator to join our friendly, supportive team.

The Hospital Educator is primarily responsible to provide education services for both Non-Clinical and Clinical employees. The role encompasses assisting the Quality, Risk & Education Coordinator with compliance to ensure all employees meet required education standards relevant to their role and department who pride themselves on delivering high quality patient care. This role has a high focus on delivering face to face education and support in a clinical setting.

Successful applicants must be suitably experienced and have a commitment to providing excellent standards of care and exceptional communication skills, while working in a supportive team environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Broad clinical nursing experience
  • Commitment to ensuring the levels of service to patients is always of a high standard
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and digital communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software applications to develop and deliver education
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and self-direction
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise, competence and capability

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current or previous experience as a Hospital Educator
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience
  • Tertiary qualification in speciality practice
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • ALS Competent – Adult +/- Paediatric
  • Demonstrated curriculum development and/or project planning skills and/or facilitating interprofessional learning
  • Current acute medical and surgical nursing experience within the Private Health sector.
