About us:

Behaviour Support SA (BSSA) is part of the therapy services arm of Inclusive Sport SA, an organisation that has been building inclusive communities for over 40 years. BSSA is a small and dedicated team with a focus on delivering quality of life outcomes for the people of South Australia.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct individual functional assessments and use best practice principles to develop behaviour support plans.
  • Work in collaboration with family members, support staff and other key stakeholders to provide individual therapeutic interventions that address and meet participant goals.
  • Manage your own diary and travel throughout metropolitan Adelaide (and possibly intrastate) to provide behaviour support to individuals and their families or carers.
  • Build relationships with relevant decision makers, NDIS Support Coordinators, Managers, key allied healthcare professionals, relevant medical staff and other mainstream services to deliver clinical excellence.
  • Drive key business KPI's, and participate in business brain storming sessions to continue to provide top quality services.
  • Be an integral team member across business units with a say in our how we achieve our organisational and aspirational goals.

You are:

  • Degree qualified in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Counselling or equivalent.
  • Focused on person first approaches that are tailored to specific needs and goals.

  • Creative and actively develop protocols and other relevant tools to enhance service provision in order to meet individual needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary degree in allied health (Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist), Counselling, Social Work or equivalent)
  • A current DHS/DCSI child-related employment check or willing to obtain.
  • A current Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Registration with the appropriate National Body.
  • Registration or the ability to register with the NDIA as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Experience in (or strong understanding of) writing and delivering Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and disability sector.
  • Knowledge of legislation and policy settings and how this may impact people living with a disability.
  • Familiarity with using Microsoft Office Suite and databases to support outcomes.
  • High aptitude for technical written comprehension or the ability to learn, process and apply new information.
