JOB DESCRIPTION

Two opportunities exist for a registered nurse with a strong interest in and commitment to mental health nursing to join the very experienced and dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre team at Hornsby Hospital.

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until 27 June 2021 and 31 January 2022
Position Classification: Registered Nurse
Remuneration: $32.47 - $45.59 per hour
Hours Per Week: up to 30

What you'll be doing

The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.

Practicing and promoting safe, efficient and effective nursing care for people experiencing mental health problems that reflect current National practice standards for mental health, current standards of nursing practices and current North Sydney Local Health District policies and procedures.
 
Candidates need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Current mental health, drug and alcohol clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
  5. A commitment to excellence in mental health nursing practice and continuing professional development.
  6. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  7. An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems.
