Correct Care is seeking an experienced Mobile Radiographer (Part Time, 0.8 FTE, 4 days per week) who can provide Radiography services across prison locations in Metropolitan Melbourne, Barwon region and Regional Victoria.

The Role:
As the mobile radiographer you will attend multiple prison locations to deliver the services. A fully maintained vehicle and equipment will be provided for this purpose. This role will suit someone who enjoys autonomy in their role and variety in work locations. We are seeking someone who will take responsibility for the service and the equipment entrusted to you. The mobile Radiographer will be supported professionally by the Chief Medical Officer and operationally by the Regional Manager. Additionally, the mobile Radiographer will access to a full support staff contingent including payroll, procurement, human resources in our head office.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Determine appropriate imaging techniques which will provide diagnostic information for the Medical Officer.
  • Calculate details of procedures such as length and intensity of exposure to radiation and setting or recording equipment.
  • Explaining and effectively communicate procedures to patients, and ensure they receive the correct preparation for the procedure; so that any concern about the radiation processes is minimized.
  • Deliver safe, patient-centred services; identifies the safety hazards of the examination; determines appropriate methods of control; and implements control methods to ensure patient safety
  • Develop the X-ray films/process and archive digital images
  • Prepare X-ray for dispatch to radiologist at the end of the session.
  • Undertakes data collection for the monitoring and evaluation of the service.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and report any faults.

Essential attributes and experience (Selection Criteria):

  • Appropriate qualification in Medical Imaging Technology / Diagnostic Medical Radiography
  • AHPRA registration and Australian Institute of Radiography accreditation
  • Experience with Digital OPG and VIC Radiation license
  • A minimum of 2 years post-graduate radiography experience
  • Well organised and reliable with excellent time management skills
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
