What you'll be doing

  • This tertiary level clinic requires the audiologist to effectively and professionally perform a large range of specialised measures on an often complex and difficult-to-test population.

  • Proficiency is required in handling and assessing neonates referred from newborn hearing screening, as well as children who have high needs, developmentally delayed, have autistic spectrum disorder, or who have other behavioural disabilities.

  • Liaison with a wide range of agencies and consultants to ensure seamless transitions and optimal outcomes for children and families, especially in the broad multi-cultural environment we serve.

  • Close teamwork is vital both within and beyond the clinic, ensuring all families have a clear path forward.

Selection Criteria:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Audiology with Full Membership (or eligible to be) of Audiological Society of Australia preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Experience in paediatric assessment an advantage.

  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Emerging knowledge of the public hospital system and medical model.

  • Electrophysiological skills an advantage.

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Practice an advantage.
