Remuneration value up to $345 805 p.a. (L25 – L27) or Remuneration value up to $316 371 p.a. (L18 – L24), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a. pro rata, plus private practice arrangements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic, dedicated team of haematologists, medical colleagues, nurses, laboratory scientists and allied health professionals. The Staff Specialist, Clinical and Laboratory Haematology will be based in Cairns and will provide an effective and integrated service in Haematology at Cairns Hospital and Pathology Queensland Laboratory, Cairns. The position reports to the Clinical Director, Cancer Care Unit for the provision of Specialist Haematology input to inpatients and outpatients and to Director of Pathology, PQ Cairns Laboratory. In addition to providing laboratory and clinical haematology services there is the scope for being involved in department planning and helping to guide the department’s strategic direction.

Duties/Abilities

As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Clinical & Pathology Haematology you will be a valuable and valued team member. You will work with the Clinical Director Cancer Care to ensure Haematology services we provide are of the highest standard and delivered safely, reliably and efficiently.

It is a condition of employment for the employee in this role to be, and remain, vaccinated against or non-susceptible to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs): Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox) Pertussis (whooping cough) Hepatitis B.
