About the role

In 2019, Eastern Health’s Mental Health Program co-designed a suicide prevention strategy titled ‘Promoting Hope & Connection in Life: Zero Suicide Strategy’, and an accompanying implementation plan.

The project officer, in conjunction with the Zero Suicide Steering Committee, will commence implementation of the recommendations detailed in 'The Strategy'as we aspire to lead suicide prevention through co-creating and co-producing an evidence-based strategy aspiring toward zero suicide for our community who access our Mental Health Services.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Relevant qualification in Mental Health Nusing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology

  • Clinical experience in a range of mental health healthcare settings

  • Sound understanding of best evidence base surrounding suicide prevention

  • Experience in participating in service, project or policy development in health organisations

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Experience engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diversity of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in project management

  • Demonstrated understanding of capacity building and understanding of system change

  • Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
